I am seeking information on the family of John OATES who married Elizabeth BLOUNT of Tyrrell County North Carolina. John was supposedly born in 1720 in Perquimans County. He had his father Joseph lived in that area on the boundary of between Johnston and New Hanover that became Duplin. I am looking for a deed that may refer to his wife and Joseph as his father. I would also be intersted in the extract of a Will of Joseph aand John especially listing John's eldest first born sonas Joseph. If there is anyone doing research onthis family or his an deed or will extract that they would share information on

From the Wilmington Morning Star, Thursday, October 25, 1990 Notice of Disinterment and Removal of Grave or Graves Notice is hereby given, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 65-13, that Robert E. File and Kathryn L. File intend to disinter and remove, on or before November 19, 1990, one or more graves located on their lot described as Lot No. 51, Block 13, Landfall Subdivision I on the plat and survey recorded in Map Book 15, Page 4G, New Hanover County Registry. The lone headstone for the grave(s) reads 'VIRGINIA MOTTE' and bears the date October 25, 1860. All interested persons should contact Wayne A. Bullard, Attorney, at (919)763-4565 or send inquiries to P.O. Box 2178, Wilmington, NC 28402 * * * * * * At the time this article appeared, I called the attorney and the only additional information he had was a date of birth on the marker, 11-2-1859. He also said title searches go back only 60 years as far as any help that would be in locating who had owned the property in 1860. I think the grave has been maintained in a small park on the site. I wonder if anyone could help identify this person. I am researching Mott/Motte, but do not know if this would fit in my line or not. Thanks,
