Looking for g-grandfather's roots. His name is Asa AVERY b.? d.1938 married to Annie BONEY. Had three children Ernest Martin AVERY (deceased)b.and d.Wilmington,N.C., J.B. AVERY residing in Jacksonville, FL., Gladys FORMYDUVALl, Delco, N.C. It has been said that his family migrated from Avery Cty to Wilmington. There was a feud of some sort and the spelling of Avery was changed by some families, i.e.; Every. My info is sketchy but I believe it is somewhat correct. Can anyone HELP?

I am seeking information on an AVERY family from New Hanover County. There was a daughter, Anne, who married John MARTIN, my GGGGrandfather. John was supposedly in a shipwreck in the West Indies as a child. He was rescued by a native and put on a ship to America. The ship landed in Wilmington. Later he was taken in and raised by this AVERY family. The AVERYs owned a plantation somewhere around Wilmington. Can anyone help me to know the names of this family? Any and all information would be appreciated. John and Anne lived in Bladen County later.

William's had a wife by the name of Rebecca. My ancestors were BRINSON. A John BRINSON married a Charity WOOD ca Jan 1799 in Duplin Co, N.C. and they shortly there after moved to Sumter District, S.C. I would like to know who Charity's parents were. Because Wood and Brinson appear on many deeds in New Hanover Co I suspect there is a connection. Can anyone help?

I am looking for any information about the DIXON family in New Hanover and Onslow Counties. William, Jonathan, Moses, and Aaron DIXSON were in New Hanover as early as 1734. Jonathan bought land from NIXON at Topsail in 1738. I have much descendants information. The next generation changed the name to DIXON. I think these DIXON'Ss came from PA with a group of Quakers. I can't make the connection. I would love to talk to anyone doing DIXON research.

I am desperately trying to find a Nettie JACOBS of Wilmington, NC. She was born around 1914 or earlier. Nettie worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company in Charlotte, NC and was transferred to Charleston, SC about 1938. Nettie married a man named Cecil Francis PACETTI in or about April of 1940. They were married by JP in Monks Corner, Charleston, SC. Nettie had dark brunette hair, brown eyes and stood about 5'5" tall. As best remembered by Frank, they had their marriage blest at the Cathedral at the Battery in Charleston. Nettie and Frank were divorced in Bradford County on October 30, 1944. Nettie's father's name was Michael (Mike) JACOBS. She had a brother named Michael, Jr. who was enlisted in the medical detachment of the 120th Infantry of Camp Blanding, FL. Nettie also had an Aunt Ida and Uncle Ed HAWKINS. Any help would be greatly appreciated as to her whereabouts or what has happened to her. Thank you in advance.

My ancestor was Robert HENDRY married Ann LEE of New Hanover County, of the Blackriver Settlement. They married about 1778. He came from the Island of Arran on the west coast of Scotland in 1770. He was a Revolutionary war soldier and served under "Light-horse Harry" Lee. He moved to Burke County GA, then to Liberty County GA in 1801. We need more information about Ann LEE. Our researchers tell us that she is a relative of the Robert E. LEE. family

My great grandfather was Frank LEVEQUE and he was married to a woman named Anglique. He an Angelique were from France but I know for a fact he died in New Hanover County in the late 1920's to the late 1930's. I'm sorry I can't be any clearer about the date of his death. Looking for ANY information on any Luke OR David BOWEN. Both names are listed in 1750 New Hanover Co. tax list and 1750's NC Militia. It's known that my later ancestor, Luke (b176?), married Frances FARMER and had 11 children including James Spearman BOWEN, a printer, who later married & moved to Sumterville, SC. Luke & Frances lived in Fayetteville, until his death in 1826. An obit states he was "a longtime resident of that place."
