Attached is a pay voucher dated 1814 for my direct ancestor, William B. Miller. William was a member of St James Episcopal and I believe he is buried in the graveyard. He purchased a pew in the church. An infant child of William B. Miller shows up in the burial records of the church. There is a gravestone for a William Miller out in the graveyard and then there is a marker on the side of the church that was built over some graves. I believe that my William Miller is under the church. My William B. Miller married Narcissa Hatch. They had several children, the only one positively identified is my direct ancestor, William Edwin Miller, born 1813 in Wilmington. William Edwin Miller's bible notes the names of his parents but not the names of his brothers and sisters. I can send a copy of that bible page if you want to post it to the site. William B. Miller bought and sold property in Wilmington from 1810 to 1830. It appears that he had some sort of livery business, renting carriages, horses and slaves. My William Edwin Miller moved from New Hanover to Columbus County to Horry County to Marion County. He taught school in Marion County from the 1840s until 1870. He was a trial justice for a while before he died.
