Luke TOWNLEY, War of 1812, Private, Second Regiment, 12th Company, detached from the NC Militia, Capt. Cullen Fillyaw's Company. Luke TOWNLEY was born 1774 and died 1826. He is buried in the Pine Barren Cemetery at Pine Barren, Escambia County, Florida. Luke TOWNLEY's wife, Rebecca was born 1774 and died 1874! She is buried by his side although she married William N. Richbourg, a surveyor. Luke and Rebecca are from New Hanover County, NC. Their children are: 1. Lucy TOWNLEY, b. 1804/5, married 1. Morris Boney and 2. John LANIER. 2. Anna TOWNLEY, b. 7 Feb 1805, d. 20 Mar 1860, married Benjamin GAINER. 3. Mary "Polly" TOWNLEY, b. 23 Aug 1807, d. 21 Dec 1883, married Reuben BOWMAN. 4. Tabitha TOWNLEY b. 1809, married a John LANIER. 5. Mahala Julia TOWNLEY, b. 1811, d. 13 Feb 1868, married 1. Daniel Mack SHEPARD and 2. John D. HOLMAN. 6. Martha "Patsy" TOWNLEY, b. 7 Mar 1813, d. 23 Jul 1889, mar. Neil WILKINSON. 7. Edmond Horatio H. TOWNLEY, Reverend, b. 23 Feb 1816, d. 9 Jul 1874, married Mary M. DEARMAN. 8. Wealtha TOWNLEY, b 28 Jul 1818, d. 22 Sep 1900, mar. Charles HOBBS.
