NOTE: The Frederick Foy Bible is found in “Bible Records of Dobbs Co.” by
William Murphey. It has an intro and entries not found in the above; however,
the above has entries not found in Bill’s version. Most of Bill’s Bible
records were found at the NC Archives but if they have this one, it is not
online as of Oct. 2009 so it is not possible to double check the various
versions.
In his introduction Bill states “Frederick Foy was a son of James Foy and his
second wife Elizabeth Ward. Frederick Foy’s first wife was Lency House. His
second was Christian, a daughter of Frederick Dixon and Christian, probably
Caswell, of “Biscuit Hill” near Hookerton in Greene County. The owner and
location of this record are unknown.” Bill’s version states Frederick was
born at the family plantation “The Sugar Maple” near Hicks Run, Onslow Co.
His version does give the surname of both wives and they are Greene Co. names.
